Managing our finances is part of everyday life, that’s why we want to ensure our employees get the most out of the financial support we can offer:
- Bonus: We are delighted to be able to offer a discretionary bonus scheme that recognises and rewards collaborative teamwork that contributes to the performance of the business, allowing employees to share responsibility and reward for the performance of the business and share in its success.
- Employee Referral Scheme: We want to financially reward our employees who spread the word about our job opportunities. For every successful referral you make, we will reward you with a bonus payment!
- Pension: Your pension is a valuable part of your remuneration package. We provide you with access to a Group Personal Pension Plan. The contribution levels will depend on your contract.
- Life Assurance: Whilst none of us wish to think of such things, it is comforting to know that your loved ones will be assisted financially should the worst happen during your time of employment with Longleat Enterprises. If you pass away whilst employed with us before 70 years of age, a generous lump sum death benefit of four times your basic salary can be paid to your relatives, dependents or personal representatives. Employees are not required to contribute to the scheme as we cover the whole cost of the benefit.

We aim to develop and promote a working environment that allows our employees to achieve a healthy balance of work and home life. Our benefits and policies have been designed to support and promote staff well-being:
- Leave: On joining you will receive 29 days annual leave. This increases to 31 days after five years' service, this is pro-rata for part time employees, and those working shift patterns.
- Flexible Working: All employees are able to request a formal flexible working arrangement, this is a benefit that is granted subject to management approval and does depend on finding a workable solution that meets the needs of the business.
- Hybrid Working: Some of our support office roles are eligible to work remotely 2 days per week.
- Sick Pay: In the events of sickness, we provide sick pay provisions, starting at 1 week after 6 months service, increasing to 4 weeks after one years’ service and then 13 weeks after 5 years’ service.
- Employee Assistance Programme EAP: We provide all employees with access to a free and confidential EAP. Providing you with practical help and counselling on a wide range of issues including health problems, financial matters and legal disputes.
- Free Eye Tests: If you are a user of visual display units we can provide you with a voucher for a free eye test and discounted glasses.

Apprenticeships at Longleat
Longleat is proud to offer Apprenticeships. We have delivered several different Apprenticeship Standards:
- Level 5 Operations Department Manager
- Level 3 Team Leader or Supervisor
- Level 3 Customer service specialist
- Level 3 Business Administrator
- Level 3 Keeper and Aquarist
Work Experience
Animal Keeper – Work Experience Placements
We offer a limited number of work experience placements for individuals passionate about animal care and looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience in a professional zoological setting.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for a placement, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be enrolled full-time in an animal-related qualification
- Be available for a minimum of six consecutive weeks on a full-time basis
- Have access to your own transport (please note: public transport is not available)
Placements are offered within our Hoofstock and Animal Adventure teams.
