An a-maze-ing day out
Fun for all ages
There’s so much to squeeze in at Longleat; as well as seeing our animals and the House, there’s an abundance of places to play and enjoy the great outdoors. Lose yourself in the UK’s longest Hedge Maze, take a trip on the Longleat Railway and ride the Rockin’ Rhino.
Let your little one’s imaginations run wild in our designated play areas. Explore Adventure Castle for clambering, climbing, sliding and zip wiring, and younger ones can immerse themselves in Little Explorers' Garden.
All included in your Day Ticket or Membership.
Hedge Maze
With over a mile and a half of paths, you’ll need to choose your lefts and rights carefully to make sure you don’t get lost. Our iconic maze was planted in 1975 and opened in 1978. It is made of over 16,000 English yew trees, which are kept in tip top condition by our Grounds and Gardens team. Exploring our maze typically takes no longer than 30 minutes, depending on how quickly you race your way to the middle.

Adventure Castle
Designed for children aged 14 and under. Spend hours discovering our adventure playground, complete with zip wires, climbing frames, tube slides and of course, the medieval keep. During warmer days, our refreshing Splash Pad will be ready for little ones to cool off, so don’t forget to bring swimming costumes and towels! No matter the weather, our Soft Play will be the perfect place for younger visitors to burn off that excess energy. Adult supervision is always required.

Rockin’ Rhino
Jump on board Rockin’ Rhino, a ride perfect for our younger visitors. Rocky the rhino and Leroy the lion have been causing mischief and it’s your turn to join the chase!

Little Explorers' Garden
Enter an enchanting play area designed especially for children under five. This area offers fun and immersive play equipment, featuring wildlife you may spot in your own garden. From clambering over climbing frames to exploring hidden burrows, children will have a great time! You can also find an enclosed baby feeding room and bottle and food prep station here. Adult supervision is always required.

Longleat Railway
All aboard the Longleat Railway! Our 15 inch narrow gauge railway has been running since 1965, even before our Safari Park opened. Enjoy the 1¼ mile journey through scenic woodland and experience incredible views across Half Mile Pond. Look out for our noisy Californian sea lions as they follow the Boat Safari, as well as looking across to Colobus Island and Gorilla Colony. You may even spot our pod of hippos! You’ll begin and end your trip at Longleat Central Station in the Main Square.
