Our tower of Giraffes are jumping for joy for World Giraffe Day! 🦒
Thea the Rothschild giraffe is captured on camera appearing to dance in the grass – a perfect shot to mark World Giraffe Day – Friday 21 June.
Her delight was captured by keeper Ian Turner when our tower of giraffes returned to the East African Reserve within our 250-acre safari park when the sun finally emerged last month. Thea will be five in August.
A Tower is the collective noun for these elegant animals which range from four to five and half metres tall. Over winter the giraffe live in their winter paddock with access to a heated house as they are more sensitive to the cold.
