5 Returns to Longleat
8 October 2025
New series will return to the Wiltshire estate, offering viewers a unique insight into what it takes to keep one of Britain's oldest and vast estates
After the success of the first series earlier this year, 5 has re-commissioned 'Inside Longleat', produced by Bright Branch Media. The new eight-part series will return to the Wiltshire estate, offering viewers a unique insight into what it takes to keep one of Britain's oldest and vast estates, a top destination for visitors.
The second series follows Lord and Lady Bath and their team of specialists as they navigate spring, summer, autumn and winter. From the housekeepers of the grand Elizabethan House to the safari keepers, foresters, water bailiff, beekeepers, balloonists and even a summer carnival, Longleat never stops, but this 9000-acre estate is far-reaching. Not only will viewers get to see the Longleat grounds, but also witness the beautiful Shearwater Lake and restaurant, meet the farming tenants who live in the neighbouring village of Horningsham and go as far afield as the team who maintain the famous Cheddar Gorge caves which are also part of the estate.
Lucy Willis, Commissioning Editor, Unscripted, 5 said: “I still remember as a child, the thrill of winding up the windows, as we drove past the monkeys at Longleat. So, it’s a real treat that Lord and Lady Bath have opened their doors for a second time to 5 viewers, for a ring side seat of all that Longleat has to offer. From their impressive conservation work to their stately home and grounds and of course the world famous safari park.”
Lord Bath added: “Emma and I are delighted the programme has been recommissioned. This new series is sharing even more insights into the lives of those who make the estate such a special place to visit as well as showing how it fits with the wider community, of which we are so proud to be a part.”
Jo Pearce, Creative Director of Bright Branch Media commented: “We're delighted to be back at Longleat. The series puts the lens on the passionate, warm and dedicated people who make this estate one of a kind. It's an hour of heartfelt escapism.”
The series was commissioned by Lucy Willis for 5 and executively produced by Jo Pearce with series producer Ian Durham and Director Dominick French for Bright Branch Media.
