The smallest of all the world's foxes
Our fennec foxes Zuri and Enzi made headlines in 2024 when they produced the only kits known to have been born in UK zoos or safari parks in the past 12 months. With only around 40% of fennec fox babies surviving to adulthood, our keepers hand-reared the kits around the clock.
Born weighing just 46g each, these tiny survivors are now thriving as a vital addition to the global breeding programme. You can find our fennec family with their distinctive oversized ears in Animal Adventure.
Fennec foxes can dig burrow tunnels up to 10 meters long with multiple escape routes.
