Wildlife Conservation Student Conference 2025-26

KS4 & KS5

The  world’s biodiversity is under threat. There are many challenges to overcome in protecting it but conservationists work towards finding solutions. Working together is essential and we all have a part to play.

We  invite you to bring conservation and biology theory to life, with Longleat.

Conference Content

On  our half day student conference we will introduce your students to different aspects of wildlife conservation with presentations from Longleat’s own specialists, including;  ·

  • How zoos and safari parks contribute to conservation
  • Focus on coordinated breeding programmes
  • Magnolia Snails; saving a species through ex-situ conservation
  • Conservation and Communities; Macaw Recovery Network
  • Pine Martin Project; facilitating recolonization

When putting together the content for this conference, we have particularly focused on areas that are relevant to A level Biology qualification specifications. These include 'in-situ and ex-situ methods of maintaining biodiversity', 'genetic diversity in isolated populations' and 'management of environmental resources and the effect of human activity'.
