Say hello to Ellie, our Southern hairy-nosed wombat who made the big move from Australia to Longleat in 2019. This marsupial has made herself completely at home in Koala Creek, where you'll find her either grazing in her outdoor paddock or snoozing away in her cozy warren, after all, a wombat needs about 12 hours of sleep each day!
Built-in digging tools
Each paw has five digits with impressive 5cm sharp claws, longer than your thumb, and perfect for digging those underground warrens.
Ellie’s back feet feature a special double-claw grooming tool where two toes have fused together, while her rodent-like teeth never stop growing throughout her life.
