Monkey Mayhem
Like most monkeys, our troupe of rhesus macaques are highly intelligent, highly inquisitive and highly mischievous. Just like us, they have opposable thumbs. Which goes some way to explaining why they’re so good at collecting loose car parts!
A trip through Monkey Drive-Through is not for the faint of heart or new of car!
Our cheeky monkeys may well climb on your car and can cause damage. Unfortunately, we can’t take responsibility for any damage or losses to your car including spoilers, trims, roof racks, number plates, accessories and parking sensors (which are their favourite). So, if you want to steer clear of the Monkey Drive-Through… use the bypass lane!
Big Game Park
This area is home to shaggy Bactrian camels and the striking scimitar-horned oryx. Plus, keep your eyes peeled for our Ankole cattle and their show-stopping two-metre-long horns!
Also, say hello to Nanju, Marashi, Razina and Ebun, our mighty crash of southern white rhinos. You’ll find them in their own special space near the Big Game Park, where you can admire their chunky frames and those signature square lips up close.
Deer Park
Want a closer encounter?
For a small fee, you can feed our delightful deer from your own car.
Tiger Territory
Our Amur tigers are among the most beautiful and impressive animals on the estate. You may even spot cubs as you venture around Tiger Territory.
Mum, Yana, and dad, Red, arrived at Longleat in 2018 as part of an international breeding programme. Born in May 2024, the all-female litter of Heidi, Seeka, Dora-Boo and Ginger Biscuit are out and about exploring their enclosure. These young tigers are Yana and Red’s second litter at Longleat, after Rusty and Yuki were born in 2019.
Lion Country
These majestic beasts were the first to arrive here when we opened in 1966 and are still our star attraction.
These big cats like nothing better than an afternoon snooze. But if you’re lucky, you might see them striding majestically through their territory – or even using the Wiltshire trees as a scratching post to sharpen those awesome claws. Easiest to spot? Big males, Harry, Klaus and Simba!
Cheetah Kingdom
Cheetahs are well known for their impressive speed. But our group, made up of Wilma and her litter of cubs, is also partial to a cat nap. So if they’re not dashing about, you might spot them lounging in the long grass.
Unlike other cats, cheetahs are more active in the day than at night as this reduces their competition with other predators, so you may be lucky enough to see them dashing about their enclosure.
Wolf Wood
Welcome to the territory of our grey wolf pack. You’ll probably notice that, despite their name, our wolves aren’t actually grey. That’s because – quite confusingly – grey wolves can have a variety of different coloured coats: grey, black, brown, red and white.
Wolves are usually most active during the night or early morning, so during the day, they can often be found curled up under trees.
Take a ride on the wild side
The Safari Bus allows guests without a suitable vehicle to still enjoy the Drive-Through experience, and watch the mischievous monkeys in action without risk to their vehicle. Our state of the art bus has luxury seating, Wi-Fi and air conditioning, allowing you to explore in comfort, alongside expert driver commentary.

Important information
Unless directed by signs or a keeper, always keep your doors locked and windows closed whilst driving through the tiger, cheetah, lion or wolf enclosures.
If you need assistance within the Safari Drive-Through, sound your horn and a staff member will come to you.
Do not exit your car inside any enclosures.
Unfortunately, we can’t take responsibility for any damage or losses to your vehicle. So, if you'd rather steer clear of the Monkey Drive-Through, please use the bypass lane. There are signs to guide you in the right direction.
Motorbikes and cars with soft tops, vinyl sunroofs or soft top trailers are not allowed in the Drive-Through Safari.
If your vehicle isn't suitable, then for a small fee you may board the Safari Bus and enjoy a guided tour. The bus has limited seating and is subject to availability.
Last entry to the Drive-through Safari can be found on our opening times page, here.
The Drive-Through Safari experience can take between two to three hours, so we recommend leaving plenty of time in your day. It is often worthwhile exploring the Walking Safari and attractions in the morning and saving your Safari trip until the afternoon.
You may only alight from your vehicle at the African Village. Enjoy a hot or cold drink and a snack at the Watering Hole and take a stroll through the walk-through animal areas.
This is also your last chance to use toilet facilities in the Drive-Through Safari.
Dogs and/or pets of any sort are not allowed in the Drive-Through Safari.
